#50: Dead or Alive
The Mandela effect usually refers to misapprehensions or false memories that an entire group shares, but it’s possible to have a false memory that is just yours alone. For instance, this person distinctly remembers going to their grandpa’s 70th birthday party when, in actuality, he was in his sixties at the time.
The moral of this story, I think, is that 7-year-olds are not that bright. When I was seven, I thought a polar bear lived behind our garden shed. So what the heck do 7-year-olds know, really? I’m not sure if this person shares this memory with his entire family or if it’s just his memory.
