A Gross Grub: A Bug’s Life
One undeniable truth about our planet is that bugs, in all their squishy and peculiar glory, tend to elicit a visceral reaction of discomfort in many of us. With an estimated million species of bugs roaming the Earth, a significant portion appears to exist solely to provoke our unease. Their unsettling appearance, coupled with their penchant for appearing where we least expect them, makes our encounters with them less than pleasant.
However, some display an admirable curiosity and fearlessness in the face of the insect kingdom. One such intrepid adventurer stumbled upon a peculiar worm-like creature in a forest, capturing an image and sharing it online to solicit opinions. It turns out that this unusual specimen was a Sphinx moth caterpillar, destined for a transformation that, unfortunately, does not render it much more appealing in its adult form.
