#19: Not Playing Favorites…
Parents and grandparents often assert they don’t play favorites among their children or grandchildren, but family dynamics can sometimes reveal unspoken preferences. While the ideal is to treat all family members equally, reality doesn’t always align with this notion.
Imagine how the other grandchildren must have felt when they discovered that their grandmother wouldn’t name them as executors of her will. While the role itself might not have been the sole point of contention, the fact that this person received 5% of the estate while the others received nothing would have made the situation abundantly clear. Such disparities can lead to complex feelings and strained family relationships.
