#43: Girls Can Be Farmers, Too
Growing up in an environment dominated by boys can create a sense of pressure for girls to conform to certain gender roles and expectations. Despite their efforts to fit in, girls may still experience feelings of exclusion. To counteract this, when their father passed away, he took a unique approach to dividing his farm and equipment among his three children. He allocated all the heavy equipment to his daughter, ensuring she felt equally capable of handling the demanding work, just like her brothers.
This thoughtful gesture not only challenged traditional gender roles but also empowered his daughter to take on a more active role on the family farm. It served as a testament to the belief that gender should never limit a person’s potential or opportunities.
