You can often gauge how talented an actor is by how drastically they can change from their true selves. While that’s essentially the job of an actor, it cannot be very clear when a performer is strongly associated with a particular role but is actually quite different in real life.

For instance, Nina Dobrev, known for her sweet character Elena in The Vampire Diaries, apparently wasn’t the nicest girl in high school. This revelation is particularly surprising for our 15-year-old selves, who would have never guessed that someone who portrayed such a kind character could have been perceived as not so nice in reality. It’s hard to reconcile the two images!
