One can’t help but wonder why bother picking someone up at the airport if you dislike them so much. This is quite a peculiar welcome party, and perhaps it’s a private joke between these two friends that we simply don’t understand. We hope there’s a humorous backstory to this sign; otherwise, it comes across as rather mean.

After seeing this sign, Jody might prefer to return to California rather than spend an hour in the car with this sour-faced welcome. We don’t know the backstory or the dynamics between them, but this isn’t the warm welcome most people expect after returning from a vacation.
