#1: The Perennial Sunglasses Enigma
Within the confines of my household, a curious and recurring phenomenon never ceases to amaze me. It’s a spectacle where I can effortlessly lay my hands on at least three pairs of sunglasses procured from the local dollar store merely by meandering through my living space. Yet, when I invest in high-quality sunglasses, they seem to embark on an unexplained vanishing act. This enigma extends its reach to encompass my husband’s sunglasses as well. Without fail, each passing year necessitates acquiring a fresh set of Maui Jim sunglasses for him.
It’s important to note that this is not entirely his fault. For the better ten months, he conscientiously preserves his sunglasses, diligently stowing them away in their protective case and treating them with the utmost care. Then, as if scripted by fate, the day arrives when he embarks on one of his cherished fishing or hunting expeditions, and inevitably, the $250 sunglasses are either mislaid or inadvertently left behind. To some, it may appear perplexing that I persistently replace them annually. However, these sunglasses possess an almost mystical ability to diminish water glare, a feature he ardently cherishes. Regrettably, the more affordable alternatives do not measure up to the task.
