The daily battle between daytime sleepiness and nighttime alertness resonates with many individuals. This phenomenon appears to follow a spectrum that is influenced by our level of activity and the demands of our to-do list. When idle, we yearn for activity, but when faced with a list of tasks, even the act of reading it can feel exhausting.
It’s no wonder that more than a third of Americans rely on some form of sleep aid. Despite the desire to function effectively the following day, the brain often refuses to switch off at night. Unfortunately, sleep aids sometimes lead to groggy mornings, necessitating a caffeine infusion and a full workday to restore alertness.
