40: The Elusive New Year’s Resolution
New Year’s resolutions are a popular tradition, with over 41% of Americans setting them each year. Unfortunately, only a mere 9% manage to stick with their resolutions throughout the year. Given that these statistics are self-reported, it’s possible that the actual success rate is even lower, as some individuals may exaggerate their commitment.
Maintaining resolutions often requires a combination of time and motivation. Those who initiate or abandon their resolutions within the first week are less likely to succeed. Perhaps it’s time to consider creating a new resolution holiday in the summertime when the warmer weather may inspire more significant changes in people’s lives compared to the frigid months of January.
