#4: Recognizing the Hard Work of Servers
It’s crucial to acknowledge the diligent efforts of waiters and waitresses. They deserve to serve patrons who genuinely enjoy dining out and having a good time. If you’re inclined to be discourteous or disrespectful, enjoying your meal at home might be best. Additionally, if you’re unable or unwilling to tip generously, perhaps staying home is the better choice. When dining out, offering a tip of at least 10% or more is customary as a token of gratitude for the service.
Regrettably, I’ve observed individuals who appear dismissive of the serving staff, treating them as less than human or unworthy of respect simply because they work in a restaurant. It’s crucial to remember that their career choices are their prerogative, and it is not our place to pass judgment or mistreat them. Without these hardworking individuals, the dining-out experience we enjoy would not be possible.
