Take Andre 3000 of OutKast, for example. At the 2004 Grammy Awards, fresh off their Album Of The Year win, the duo took to the stage for a “Hey Ya” performance with a controversial Native American theme. Complete with a futuristic teepee, moccasins, and scantily clad dancers adorned with feathers, the performance sparked outrage among Native American communities. CBS quickly issued a swift apology on behalf of everyone involved.
