It seems Icelanders are quite straightforward in setting expectations for tourists unfamiliar with their astonishingly dramatic terrain. One wonders if all eight of these rules have been broken by oblivious visitors, or if Icelandic authorities simply foresaw the need for such a sign due to anticipated mishaps caused by people’s lack of foresight.

Our personal favorite is rule three, especially for those Instagram fans willing to go to great lengths for the perfect shot. And let’s hope there are Icelandic port-a-toilets to assist with rule seven!
