The Last McDonald’s Meal Ever Sold in Iceland
The ubiquitous burger chain, McDonald’s, has established its presence in approximately 120 countries worldwide. However, Iceland isn’t one of them anymore. Following the 2008 financial crash, McDonald’s closed its three locations in 2009 and exited the country. This display, therefore, must be a nod to that history, likely created by someone with a good sense of humor. We particularly appreciate the sign’s encouragement for visitors to take a selfie next to the last burger, adding a playful touch to the memory of McDonald’s brief stint in Iceland.

We especially love how the display case with the burger and chips sits on a quaint green lace table mat, reminiscent of the one your granny made last Christmas.
