#2: Willy Wonka: The Grand Prize
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is one of those movies that was super fun when you were a kid, but if you see it again as an adult, you realize that it’s not as happy and shiny as you thought. I mean, we’re not sure that any of the other kids actually die, but it’s not outside the realm of possibility.
So what if the happy ending of the show is darker than we realized, too? When Willy Wonka gives Charlie his factory, it’s supposed to be a wonderful surprise and the ending to his family’s poverty. But maybe there’s something a lot more serious going on under the surface.
