#56: Harry Potter: The Sorting Hat
This Harry Potter fan observed something quite intriguing about the students sorted into Gryffindor: many of them don’t actually possess the defining characteristic of Gryffindors, bravery. In fact, at least two of them, as we know, specifically requested to be placed in the house.
So what if that is the defining characteristic—that Gryffindor is a house full of people brave enough to tell the Sorting Hat where they want to go and brave enough to choose a house where people seem to get in trouble a lot? I mean, look at the main trio and the Weasley twins—they were always mixed up in something or other.
