#30: Self Reflection
People who snore startle themselves awake all the time. This person’s ex used to do it, but he had some unresolved feelings about it. One time, his snoring got progressively louder, to the point where it woke him up. Instead of rolling over and going back to sleep, he said out loud, “Shut UP, I’m sleeping!”
The fact that he was yelling at himself in his sleep was too much for our storyteller. She cracked up and snorted her drink through her nose because she was laughing so hard! Even though the two of them broke up, she still remembers this story because it was so ridiculous and endearing.
#31: The Exorcist
It’s very common for people to dream about recent events, so this story is no surprise. With that in mind, maybe watching a horror movie before going to bed is not a good idea. This storyteller was watching The Exorcist with his dad and brother. If you’ve ever seen this movie, you might remember the opening scene where archaeologists uncover a statue that releases a demon.
This scene apparently stuck with their brother because after he fell asleep, he got up, walked to the middle of the room, and kept asking where the statue was. Our storyteller and their dad, who were still up watching movies, had no idea what he was talking about. Exasperated, the brother began to act out the motion of picking something up and moving it over about a foot on the ground. Thankfully, he decided to reenact this scene from The Exorcist and not another one!
