Don’t Call Me Baby
Vampire-themed TV shows and movies abound in the entertainment industry, and The Vampire Diaries, a teen drama from the 2010s, is arguably one of the most popular vampire TV series. The casting, particularly the three main actors portraying the Salvatore brothers and Elena, was spot on. Perhaps one reason their on-screen chemistry felt so genuine is that Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev were a real-life couple for three years.

The two shared a particularly dramatic scene on the show, which became even more emotional knowing the actors had been a couple off-screen. When the suave Damon Salvatore, played by Ian Somerhalder, delivered his line, “I don’t have a choice, baby,” no one suspected it wasn’t in the script. As it turns out, the “baby” was the actor’s personal touch, his addition to the scene.
