In a heart-wrenching scene from Riverdale, where Archie desperately tries to save Cheryl from drowning beneath the ice of a frozen body of water, the actor gets carried away. KJ Apa must have momentarily forgotten it wasn’t real life and struck the “ice” so forcefully that he broke his hand on set.

The aftermath included a lot of screaming and a fair amount of blood. Despite the intense pain, KJ Apa soldiered on like a true professional and continued working until the scene concluded. Remarkably, the producers used the unedited footage in the final cut. One can only imagine what it must have been like for the actor to watch that scene later.
