Making Everything Up from Scratch
Imagine arriving at work only to be told to dive into a scene without prior guidance or explanation. Panic would likely set in for most people. However, for actors, the ability to improvise is a valuable skill. Such was the case for the actors in Orphan Black when they faced a challenging unscripted burial scene.

Tatiana Maslany and Kristian Bruun embraced the unexpected nature of the scene, diving headfirst into improvisation. They crafted the entire scene on the spot, making it feel natural and believable. Their exceptional improvisational skills were so convincing that the directors never hesitated to keep the scene, showcasing the actors’ ability to adapt and enhance the storyline through spontaneous performance.
