Hobbyists Vs. Professionals
When you trust the skills of friends or family members enough to employ them as photographers, that can be wonderful. However, when you hire a professional, it is expected that they will be responsible for capturing all the significant moments. After all, you don’t walk into a restaurant kitchen and start cooking your meal, do you?

While it’s understandable that the dad was excited to celebrate his son’s wedding, he should have deferred to the hired photographer, who was there to do a specific job. The photographer should not have been placed in the uncomfortable position of possibly having to offend someone by asking them to step aside. In such situations, it would have been ideal for another family member, like the mom or brother, to step in and prevent potential disruption.
