Simon Says
In most wedding ceremonies, the officiant plays a significant role in guiding the proceedings, and guests typically follow their cues. This can include standing and sitting at specific moments, particularly in religious or traditional ceremonies. When an officiant forgets to direct guests to sit down after they’ve been standing for an extended period, it can indeed create an awkward situation.

Surprisingly, the officiant did not notice that guests remained standing throughout the ceremony, and it’s also unexpected that no one took the initiative to sit down, leading others to do the same. In such situations, a simple act by one guest can break the pattern and encourage others to follow suit. However, some guests may have hesitated to disrupt the ceremony by sitting without a cue from the officiant.
