Repeat After Me: I Do
Weddings aren’t events that happen overnight. There’s a proposal, an acceptance, dates to be set, dresses and tuxedos to purchase, and dinner plans to be made. In other words, there’s plenty of time for the bride and groom to have a heart-to-heart conversation about their future together. The middle of the ceremony is not the time to suddenly gather the courage to speak your truth.

While it’s essential to ensure you’re making the right decision regarding marriage, waiting until the ceremony is in full swing is not the ideal approach. Unless, of course, the groom had some misguided notion of publicly humiliating the bride by dropping the bombshell right then and there. He’d want to spare himself the embarrassment of doing it in front of everyone in attendance.
