Let’s return to Curiosity’s findings on Mars, as they are abundant and intriguing. The image on the left depicts an unusual rock formation on the 3528th day of Curiosity’s mission. After moving around the red planet, the rover returned to the same spot only to find a loose rock sitting precisely where it had photographed just 12 days earlier.

The most straightforward explanation is that Curiosity’s movements stirred up sand and rocks, causing the loose rock to land on top of the oddly circular rock formation. This seems to be the more plausible reason behind the mysterious photograph. However, some believe that Martian lifeforms may have played a role in this peculiar occurrence.
