Chair Tetris
This picture may not be a mystery, but it did astonish passersby. You might think the chairs were randomly thrown into a space between two buildings, but in reality, Colombian artist Doris Salcedo meticulously stacked one chair on top of another. Her creation is titled the “Installation for the 8th Istanbul Biennial.”

Doris constructed this masterpiece in Istanbul, using over 1,550 chairs. She aimed to show the locals of Istanbul how many immigrants had contributed to the national economy over the years. The presence of a normally-sized man passing in front of the chairs emphasizes the sheer magnitude of this art piece.
