#26: Better to Catch It Now
It’s perfectly natural for people to get a little worried when they see mechanics walking around the plane or hear that the flight has been delayed because of mechanical problems. After all, the last thing any of us want is to be on a plane that’s got a broken filanji in it.

However, as this individual astutely observes, wouldn’t you prefer the mechanic to address any issues while the plane is safely on the ground, rather than discovering them mid-flight, hundreds of miles over the Atlantic Ocean with limited options for landing? Indeed, a plane that has just been inspected by a mechanic is unequivocally the safest and most desirable type of aircraft to be aboard.
