#8: Lost and Found
I can’t speak for you, but every time I board a plane, I experience an overwhelming sense of dread at the prospect of misplacing something as vital as my phone or passport. The mere idea that my belongings could potentially end up en route to Cleveland without me is enough to send shivers down my spine. And even in the event that they are located, the prospect of navigating the labyrinthine process to retrieve them is equally daunting. After all, it’s not as if I can simply turn back and inquire at the gate about a lost and found.

Due to my fear of losing important items during a flight, I’ve developed a meticulous ritual of checking my bag approximately 400 times before disembarking. Fortunately, my vigilance has paid off so far, as the only thing I’ve inadvertently left behind on a plane is an umbrella—albeit one that held sentimental value and whose loss still weighs on me. However, knowing that there is a well-established procedure in place to recover lost items provides a measure of reassurance. It’s comforting to know that if such an unfortunate incident were to occur again, there would be a structured process in place to facilitate their retrieval.
