Hallelujah Holiday
While we certainly don’t wish to generalize, some homeschooled children from our past indeed tended to have unique experiences, often due to their parents’ beliefs and preferences. These children often found themselves unable to partake in various activities their peers enjoyed. One day, this storyteller encountered a homeschooled family in their neighborhood, and it was evident that they did not participate in Halloween festivities.

In place of the customary candy, this family distributed bookmarks. These were not just ordinary bookmarks; they bore the phrase “Hallelujah Holiday,” presumably signifying the holiday they celebrated instead of Halloween. It appears this family knew how to march to the beat of their drum and add a touch of uniqueness to the neighborhood’s Halloween traditions.
