#46: A Not-So-Childish Publication
Registering a complaint because your nine-year-old glimpsed a Victoria’s Secret Magazine that you possess is rather peculiar. What precisely would you prefer them to do? Abstain from showcasing the merchandise they sell? Has your son never laid eyes on his nipples? Do you hurriedly cover them up when he sees them in the mirror? Here’s a thought – let’s desexualize the anatomical aspects of breastfeeding.
I’m still trying to fathom why this mother anticipates that Victoria’s Secret should be deemed PG-rated. I’ve never witnessed such a label on any of their covers. The publication primarily features women’s lingerie. What did you realistically anticipate encountering? It’s not PG, even if the nipples aren’t fully exposed. The simple solution is to stow away the magazine when it arrives – problem solved.
