What Did That Tree Ever Do to You?
I don’t rush to judgment when it comes to urban dwellers who opt to purchase a country home and dabble in the facade of farming life. I’m sure that among them, there are individuals who are genuinely pleasant and adept at adopting the rural lifestyle without clinging to their urban roots. Some of them may embrace country life with sincerity and commitment, seamlessly blending into their new surroundings and immersing themselves in the rhythms of rural living.
I find myself somewhat perplexed by individuals who relocate to rural areas with the intention of channeling their emotions through manual labor, only to engage in indiscriminate tree-cutting that ultimately detracts from the natural beauty of the countryside. It seems counterintuitive that their efforts, aimed at providing catharsis, ended up degrading the very environment where they sought peace. Surely, these actions cannot be seen as beneficial for the countryside, since they lead to the depletion of vital green spaces and disrupt the area’s delicate ecological balance.
