Monster Food Waste Problems
There’s a peculiar fascination surrounding food items that seemingly never spoil, perhaps fueled by a collective horror and intrigue regarding the abundance of preservatives in our diets. The myth of indestructible foods like Twinkies and McDonald’s hamburgers that resist decay perpetuates this curiosity. Some claim that Twinkies can endure indefinitely without spoiling, while others argue the same for McDonald’s hamburgers. However, it’s worth noting that these assertions may not hold under closer scrutiny. In reality, it’s more likely that these foods simply dry out or undergo other changes before they have the chance to mold, leading to their preservation rather than a complete absence of spoilage.
If someone had posed the question to me regarding the shelf life of a Monster Energy drink, I would have undoubtedly surmised that they could outlast even a nuclear winter. Given the artificial and highly processed nature of the ingredients found in a Monster, it’s reasonable to assume that nothing within it occurs naturally. Thus, I found myself genuinely taken aback upon hearing the account of individuals purchasing cases of Monster energy drinks only to discard them. Such a wasteful practice seems particularly perplexing considering the seemingly endless durability of these beverages.
