Frugal Vs. Cheap
In other sections of this article, I’ve extolled the virtues of frugality. As someone who embodies this quality myself, I wholeheartedly advocate for its adoption by all. After all, one of the most effective means of increasing one’s wealth is to abstain from squandering money on frivolous purchases. However, even an admirable trait like frugality ought to be tempered with discretion.
The distinction between frugality and cheapness is subtle yet significant. It’s crucial to navigate this line delicately, particularly when it comes to interactions within one’s own home. Regardless of their employment status, it’s imperative to avoid being perceived as a stingy individual. Opting for the cheapest coffee available under the guise of frugality can come across as petty and discourteous. Instead, extending the courtesy of providing quality coffee, especially to someone who works in your home, demonstrates respect and appreciation. The minimal expense incurred in procuring decent coffee pales in comparison to the goodwill it fosters.
