Cleanliness Is Next to Godliness
This is yet another dilemma that has me utterly conflicted. On one hand, it seems undeniably absurd to hire a housekeeper to clean a house three times a week, especially when the occupants are only present in the house a handful of times throughout the year. Common sense dictates that such frequency is excessive, and surely, the housekeeper could easily maintain cleanliness with a more reasonable schedule – perhaps once a week or even once a month. In most cases, this level of cleaning would suffice to keep the residence in pristine condition, making the notion of three times a week seem excessive and wasteful.
On the flip side, I can’t help but imagine the sheer delight of that housekeeper who landed what could easily be dubbed the cushiest job known to humanity. Picture this: it’s a typical Wednesday, and she arrives for her routine cleaning duties. As she surveys the immaculate surroundings, she must think to herself, “Well, it’s still gleaming because no one has set foot in here since I last cleaned it… on Monday.” A quick dusting here and there, and she’s off, likely chuckling all the way to the bank at the thought of her seemingly effortless workload. However, I must admit that this scenario seems somewhat inconsistent with the notion of never discarding food…
