Ever heard of a generational ghost? Meet Mr. Rand. In this account, the storyteller had an imaginary friend during childhood, Mr. Rand, who likely had roots in reality as the ghost of a World War II veteran. Mr. Rand would intermittently appear and share stories with the storyteller. However, as the storyteller grew older, Mr. Rand gradually faded into the recesses of memory—until a few years ago.

To the storyteller’s surprise, their three-year-old son began receiving visits from Mr. Rand himself. The young boy revealed that Mr. Rand knew he could no longer be seen but wanted to reassure him that he was fine. Thus, what began as a potentially eerie story took a heartwarming turn.
