Endless Fields of Teeth
The description of childhood as a time of “endless fields of teeth” is quite an evocative metaphor. It’s also important to note that, at that age, you’re in a nearly perpetual state of being either sticky or slippery, with various bodily fluids and other messy occurrences to contend with. It can undoubtedly be overwhelming to be a first-grader.
As we transition into adulthood, we often wax nostalgic about childhood innocence, and in many ways, we’re right to do so. However, that doesn’t mean childhood doesn’t come with unique challenges. Being a child, with its constant discoveries and changes, is a journey fraught with difficulties and complexities.
