They Grow Up So Quickly
Confession time: I’m also guilty of this behavior. Sometimes, it becomes quite challenging to remember that our parents were experienced, intelligent adults long before we knew how to wiggle our tiny fingers. As we transition into adulthood, there’s a perceptible shift in dynamics, and we start seeing our parents as equals.
Yet, it’s important to acknowledge that they are responsible for our very existence, having existed long before we entered the scene. So, perhaps we should occasionally lend an ear to some of their pearls of wisdom before reflexively rolling our eyes and wandering away, convinced that we know better. But here I am, unintentionally reinforcing the behavior I’m discussing, right?
