But They Were Having the Time of Their Lives
Finally, someone’s speaking the truth! There’s something undeniably unique about old movies from the 80s. One can’t help but be entertained by the way each adult in these films is portrayed as the epitome of evil, staunchly opposed to the idea of cool, laid-back teenagers having any fun and viewing them all as nothing more than lazy troublemakers.
Part of this portrayal might be attributed to the era and the generation gap between adults and teenagers. Perhaps it stemmed from a lack of understanding of the adults of that era. Fortunately, many from that generation have since grown up to become more sympathetic toward teenagers, recognizing the importance of balancing freedom with responsibility. At least, one can hope they have.
