#9: Tremble with Passion
This person shared that cataplexy runs in their family. In addition to themselves, their dad and sister also have it. What is cataplexy? Well, it’s the sudden weakening of your muscles when strong emotions like laughter, pleasant surprises, or anger are triggered in your body. This person shared that they completely lose the ability to chew, grip things, and even stand if they laugh hard enough!
Since it runs in their family, they always assumed this was a normal reaction to laughing really, really hard. Once they asked other friends and acquaintances, however, they soon learned that this doesn’t happen to most people. Their cataplexy takes the phrase “weak in the knees” to a whole new level.
