Sleep apnea is a serious condition with potential long-term health risks if left untreated, such as heart failure and stroke. Many people are unaware they have it because its symptoms—disrupted sleep, often without conscious awareness during the night—may go unnoticed. This underlines the importance of recognizing and addressing sleep apnea early through medical diagnosis and appropriate treatment to mitigate its health impacts.

Many people feel exhausted after what they think is a full night’s sleep. When they go to the doctor, they find out they have sleep apnea. This person thought being exhausted was just a modern-day experience for everyone. She finally did a sleep study and started a CPAP, which has improved her sleep by leaps and bounds.
