#47: Navigating the Intricacies of Astigmatism
People with astigmatism can’t really see bright lights at night. The colors all bleed together, causing a halo effect that makes navigating bright lights difficult. Some people’s astigmatism is so bad that they have an extreme sensitivity to bright lights in the dark. This person thought his extreme sensitivity was normal until his wife told him it wasn’t.
They were out one night, and he brought up how the lit-up sign near them was way too bright to read. In a completely calm manner, his wife read the sign without a problem. That was the catalyst for our storyteller’s realization. People without astigmatism can see bright lights perfectly fine. Sometimes, life just isn’t fair.
