Some people are more imaginative than others, but we can all agree that we picture things in our heads from time to time. From reading to daydreaming, your mind’s eye is a portal into wild visions and creative freedom. However, some people don’t form pictures in their minds at all.
People who can’t form images in their minds have aphantasia. It’s not a disability or disease. It’s simply something that certain people live with. Doctors compare it to being left-handed. It’s just something that some people have and others don’t. Most people with aphasia never experience any issues at work or school. It’s just a different way of experiencing the world.
