#16: Noise and Rage
There’s nothing better than a satisfying yawn. Most people don’t realize that the tensor tympani muscles cause the roaring in your ears during a yawn. The tensor tympani muscles are located in your middle ear and protect you from loud sounds, like chewing and shouting. That is why the sound seems muted when you are in the middle of a yawn.

This individual has a remarkable awareness of their tensor tympani muscles, as they can voluntarily activate them. These muscles, located in the ear, also involuntarily contract in response to sudden pain, even in the absence of loud noises or sounds. This contraction produces a distinctive roaring sound in their ears, adding to the uniqueness of their auditory experience.
