#16: Noise and Rage
There’s nothing better than a satisfying yawn. Most people don’t realize that the tensor tympani muscles cause the roaring in your ears during a yawn. The tensor tympani muscles are located in your middle ear and protect you from loud sounds, like chewing and shouting. That is why the sound seems muted when you are in the middle of a yawn.
This person is all too aware of their tensor tympani muscles because they can activate them at will. Another unique thing about these muscles in their ear is that they get activated when they feel sudden pain. Even if there are no surprising noises or sounds, their muscles activate, and they hear that signature roaring in their ears.
