This person received a diagnosis of a speech impediment from an online friend they had never met in person. It’s pretty wild, but this Internet friend was able to observe their chin and jawline and guess that they might be tongue-tied. Turns out, they have been tongue-tied for their entire life and never knew. Believe it or not, being tongue-tied isn’t just a figure of speech. It’s a condition where the bottom of the tongue is attached to the floor of the mouth, causing a speech impediment.
