Yosemite Firefalls
The Yosemite Firefalls were an awe-inspiring spectacle that took place in Yosemite National Park from the 1870s until 1968. On summer evenings, people pushed embers from a bonfire off Glacier Point, creating the illusion of a fiery waterfall as the glowing embers cascaded down the cliff.

Crowds would gather to witness this mesmerizing event, but as Yosemite National Park grew more popular, officials decided to end the tradition due to concerns about overcrowding and environmental impact. Although the Firefalls no longer exist, they remain a cherished part of Yosemite’s rich history.
