The Berlin Wall
The Berlin Wall, a symbol of the Cold War, divided East and West Berlin from 1961 until its fall in 1989. Built by the Soviet-controlled East German government, the wall became a physical and ideological barrier between the two sides.

The fall of the wall was one of the most iconic moments of the 20th century, marking the end of a divided Germany. Sections of the wall still stand as a reminder of this turbulent period in history. However, much of it has been torn down, and the once heavily fortified border is now open, allowing free movement and reunification.
