The Jeffrey Pine
The Jeffrey Pine, which once stood atop Yosemite’s Sentinel Dome, became a symbol of endurance and beauty, photographed by legendary photographer Ansel Adams. The tree, growing in the middle of a granite dome, was a popular destination for visitors seeking to admire both its form and the stunning views it offered.

Unfortunately, after surviving for nearly 400 years, the tree succumbed to a storm in 2003. Today, visitors can still see the remains of the tree, but its former grandeur is now preserved only in photographs and memories.
