The Statue of Liberty Torch
For more than a century, Lady Liberty has stood as a symbol of freedom, welcoming millions of immigrants to the United States. Her torch once provided visitors with a unique experience—they could climb up and gaze out over New York City from the top, enjoying a spectacular view that gave them a new perspective on both the statue and the skyline.

However, in 1916, this access was closed after the torch’s balcony was deemed unsafe. Since then, no one has been allowed to ascend to the top. While there’s hope that policy might change in the future, for now, tourists must appreciate the majestic statue from below, still an awe-inspiring sight.
