The Roxy Theater
The Roxy Theater in New York City was a glamorous movie palace that opened in 1927 near Times Square. With seating for 6,000 people and opulent decor, it was a prime destination for moviegoers during Hollywood’s golden age.

The theater hosted premieres, live performances, and even the Academy Awards. However, by the 1960s, attendance at the Roxy had dropped, leading to its demolition in 1960 to make room for an office building. Although the Roxy no longer stands, its legacy endures as a symbol of the grandeur of early 20th-century cinema.
