The Historic RKO Pictures Studio Lot
RKO Pictures was one of the most influential studios in Hollywood’s early days, producing classic films like “King Kong” and “Citizen Kane.” Located in Culver City, California, the RKO studio lot was a hub of activity during the golden age of cinema.

After the studio closed in 1959, neglect gradually caused the lot to fall into disrepair. Over time, the deterioration worsened, and by 1976, developers demolished it, erasing what remained of the once-vibrant film studio. Today, the site is unrecognizable as the birthplace of some of Hollywood’s greatest films. All that remains of RKO Pictures are its legendary movies and the memories of the stars who once walked its halls.
